We are aware that much research and evaluation, particularly the evaluation of the impact of public service interventions, is not designed into services or projects in the initial stages. Where possible we advocate integrating evaluation into any service design or project, so we can better understand what works and what doesn’t. Where evaluation hasn’t been integrated, we utilise quantitative and qualitative approaches to define, as far as possible, what has been successful.
We also encourage a continuous “lessons learned” approach to evaluation, to understand process through time.
